Assaults and harassment
Sexual harassment
The University does not tolerate sexual harassment in any form in the workplace or during studies. Persons with management responsibilities are obliged to do everything in their power to ensure that no one is sexually harassed within their sphere of influence.
Mobbing
For example, in the case of systematic, persistent harassment and belittling behaviour with the aim of ‘putting someone down’ or ‘putting them out’, you can find advice from
Universities of Bern Counselling Centre and Personnel Office Canton of Berne.
Hate Speech
In the event of hate speech, university members can seek help directly from the Equal Opportunities Department. In addition, a low-threshold reporting tool is now available. The aim of this service is to better identify who is affected by hate speech at the University of Bern and in what form.
