Vice Rectorates

The Vice-Rectorates support the Rectorate of the University of Bern in the strategic planning and implementation of university objectives in their respective areas of responsibility. The MVUB is networked with the Vice Rectorates in order to work together on projects for the intermediate staff.

The Vice-Rectorate for International Affairs and Academic Careers promotes cooperation in university networks and supports students and doctoral students in their academic and professional careers. The MVUB liaises closely with the Vice-Rectorate. The efficient promotion of junior researchers and support for young academics remains the focus of the collaboration. The MVUB provides assessments and ideas, identifies needs and acceptance for existing and new support measures.

The MVUB is in close contact with the Vice-Rectorate for Quality, in particular the Equal Opportunities Department and the Quality Assurance and Development Department. Central topics of cooperation are, in particular, better networking and the development of communication channels for members of the intermediate staff.

A large part of the teaching work at the university is carried out by the intermediate staff. The acknowledgement of these efforts, the quality of teaching, the excessive teaching loads and the internationalization directly affect intermediate staff.

These are all issues that are of central importance to the intermediate staff. A delegation from the MVUB Executive Board meets regularly with the Vice-Rectorate for Teaching.

The Vice-Rectorate Research and Innovation pursues the goal of providing researchers with the most ideal environment possible in all areas in order to ensure and promote high-quality research at the University of Bern and Inselspital.
